Our Choirs and Pastors on Easter Sunday 2010. The Adult Choir is wearing their new white stoles.
The First Baptist Church of Plymouth began its ministry in Waterbury, Connecticut on November 10, 1803. After nearly 200 years, the congregation made the courageous decision to relocate to Plymouth in 1996. The first worship service in the "new" facility was held on the Sunday following Easter in 1997.
We are a church in which "mission matters." We believe we enter the mission field the minute we walk out of the doors of the building. We minister locally in Plymouth, as well as reaching out through the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut and the American Baptist Churches USA. We share a rich ecumenical heritage in the area as well.
We seek to continue the spiritual growth of individuals and families through Sunday School for all ages, Bible Study, and youth activities.
We recognize the value of Christian fellowship. Through coffee hours, dinners, picnics, and musical concerts, we work and play together to the glory of God and the benefit of our spirits and our church.
I would love to welcome you to experience the joy of the presence of the Lord and the love we share in fellowship at First Baptist Church in Plymouth. I believe your spiritual journey will be enlivened in our dynamic and thoughtful worship. Your mind and heart will grow as you participate in Sunday School and Bible Study. Join us and see for yourself if we can provide you a church family home where you can grow in the love of God.
The Reverend Dr. Christopher L. Drew, Pastor

MORE ABOUT US
As Baptists we observe only two Ordinances:
Communion and Baptism, believing that these two particular elements of worship
were ordained by Jesus himself. We share Communion or The Lord’s Supper on the
first Sunday of every month. All baptized Christians are welcome to share this
sacred meal.
Baptism is a very personal and
individual decision. Therefore, we share “Believer’s Baptism” only for
persons old enough to make their own personal decision to follow Christ as a
disciple.
Children are a wonderful part of worship life. We want them to become comfortable in worship at an early age, so we welcome families to bring children into the sanctuary to share in the service. The pastor and others lead a special Children’s Time shortly into the worship service. Nursery Care is available for little ones who need to use it.
